“Applecot”

EpcotMy trip to Atlanta will end in a few hours and it has been a lot of fun. When I arrived on Friday my niece and nephew warmed up to me in about 10 minutes. Before I knew it I was playing with Mater and Lightning McQueen with Evan on he floor. Next we were outside flying kites. There is no problem telling what belongs to each of the kids as all of thier toys are branded with either “Cars” or “Barbie” Not long after arriving my Cousin Mark and his wife Kylie showed up from their blow out shopping spree. Then the Bourbon came out. It just gets better. Becase of “inclement weather” our good friend Eric did NOT leave town to vist his folks for Passover and was strong armed into coming over for the evening. Much fun was had! Saturday Emma was showing me pictures on the computer from thier trip to Disney World. She explained, when the “Golf Ball” Spaceship Earth came on the screen that it was at “Applecot” which is TOTALLY AWESOME. Apple+Epcot… Hmmm, the mind reels…  We had a lot of fun going on a community Easter Egg hunt Saturday morning. I got to meet some of Sean and Ellie’s friends. Clay, one of the parents, has a son (friend of Evan and Emma) who has Peanut allergies. We chatted for a good bit while he and his wife were checking all the candies thier son was about to eat. Last night I went to my first Hockey game. Yeah, I know, it’s some sort of international felony that a Canadian has never seen a hockey game. We had a great time. My brother put it best “We went to see a fight and a hockey game broke out” It was very entertaining and as a bonus the home team, the Atlanta Thrashers, won 6 to 2. We ended the night drinking beer in the hot tub and passing out thusly. This morning Easter ensued and there was much rejoicing from the little ones. Rabbit tracks and a trail of grass clippings led them to thier bounty of chocolatey goodness and toys! Mark and Kylie just left for the airport and I’ll be getting my stuff together soon as well. Sean and Ellie were awesome hosts that made sure my glass was always topped off and my belly always full. Thank you so much for such a fun weekend!
